Space Research Spring '24 - Burning Heartbreak Stage

36 in. x 36 in. x 16 in.

The stage is covered with a combination of love and hate poems from various artists including a few poems I wrote as well. It has flames and a campfire that is beneath a chair. During my presentation, I sat on the chair under the flames and presented my manifesto (below) to symbolize burning the love that I once had.

Space Research Spring '24 - Heartbreak Stage Manifesto

8.5 in. x 8.47 in.

Throughout the Manifesto there are four distinct feelings that are comparable to the stages of grief. The feelings in order are denial, depression, anger, and acceptance. The manifesto walks readers through a narrative of emotions related to heartbreak. I utilized this piece to further elaborate on the meaning and feeling of the stage design.
